Leatrice “Aunty Sa” Sachiko Ogata, 87, of Hilo died Aug. 31 at home. Born in Pahoa, she was retired from S.H. Kress Store and THY &Associates, a member of Tenrikyo Kaka‘ako Church, Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Komohana Kumiai, Kumamoto Doshi Kai, Big Island Ballroom Dance Association and Orchid Isle Dance Club. Josephine Kaukali Kailikini Fergerstrom, 90, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 31. Born in Hawaii, she worked as a waitress at Kona Hilton Resort. Visitation 8 a.m., service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Big Game Fishing Club at Honokohau Harbor. Burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park. Van Berry Roberson, 79, of Kailua-Kona died Sept. 17 at The Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Jasper, Fla., he was a retired U.S. Air Force major, fighter pilot and recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross, southern regional director for Century 21 and a member of VFW. Funeral service and burial at noon Tuesday (Sept. 26) at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona. Casual attire and flower lei. Survived by wife, Carol Jacque Roberson of Kailua-Kona; son, Van (Chris) Roberson of Birmingham, Ala; daughter, La Raine (Andrew) Williams of Hampton Cove, Ala.; brother, Doyle (Olivi) Roberson of Montgomery, Ala.; brother-in-law, Dan (Carol) Nimrod of Loxley, Ala.; three grandchildren.
